Belize Cave Tubing Shore Excursion

An hour’s easy drive west from Belize City brings us to the Sibun Caves Branch, your belize cave tubing shore excursion site – with modern bathrooms, secure parking, excellent jungle restaurant, and handicraft shops.

After changing, grab your tube, life vest and caving light, and walk a leisurely jungle trail through two dry cave systems and under beautiful primary broad-leaf rain-forest to the entrance of the cave system and the most popular tour in Belize – cool and comfortable floating through gorgeous stalactite and stalagmite filled caverns where the ancient Maya people once practiced the important rite of traveling through the underworld, ruled by the nine dark lords of their cosmological religion.

Your guides will take you safely through the system, and then, at the end of the caves, enjoy a beautiful outdoor float under the canopy of the rain-forest, with some sunshine coming down through the canopy. At the end (this is actually a circuit – you float back to where you started hiking!), enjoy a fabulous local lunch, and then back to your original start point.

You gotta do this while here – it’s cheaper to find your own guide, but these guys take care of everything.
The tubing is incredible and the guides are knowledgable – the walk through the jungle is almost as cool, but once inside the caves… you’ll be blown away. DO IT!

Well worth the drive!

The drive from port takes about an hour, but it’s well worth it. The guide ties all your tubes together and pulls your group through the cave, pointing out all the interesting things. At a couple of spots you get out of the water and walk, and it would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues, so be advised. A very nice tour.

Loved this excursion

We did this excursion on our Carnival Cruise. Don’t take many excursions but loved this one. Walk is about 20 minutes through a rainforest…not a hard walk. Cave was beautiful and a peaceful trip through the water. This can easily be done by grandparents….grandparents stayed back because they thought it would be too strenuous but could have definitely done it. I would recommend not buying the lunch if you’re doing the packaged deal. They charge $15 extra and it did not look that good. Other vendors are there offering nachos and tacos for much cheaper. Great family fun day and Fredy was an incredible bus tour guide!!!
